Eastern Hermann's Tortoise M5
Eastern Hermann's Tortoise M5
The Eastern Hermann’s tortoises or Tesduo hermanni boettgeri, are one of the larger Hermann’s tortoise subspecies. As adults they average 6-8” with the females reaching over 9”. Their golden yellow and black shell coloration makes them very visually appealing and their environmental hardiness makes them a great tortoise for beginners. They will naturally burrow down a few inches in their habitat, however they do not form long burrows.
This tortoise was produced by our female Peanut, hatched 9-14-25, currently weighing 90g, measuring just under 3” along the plastron, and was incubated for female. She has some shell abnormalities, making her unique, but is otherwise very healthy and will make a great pet.
*Please note incubation for temperature sex determination does not guarantee the sex.
