FIRST GALAPAGOS HATCHLING

Today is monumental. We hatched our first Galapagos tortoise! Isn’t it cute?! This has been a project 13 years in the making and we couldn’t be more excited to hatch this endangered black beauty.

A close up view of the face shows the light colored egg tooth in the front of the beak used to make the slits in the egg. You can also see the large yolk sac under the body that still needs to absorb before it will make the full debut.
